(Slowly) Dipping back into fine arts…

My thesis in High school was focused on fine arts and was heavily inspired by artists like Robert Rauschenberg, whose work challenged traditional art forms and blurred the boundaries between different disciplines. In college, I decided to shift my studies during college to a more digital and technology-focused field. However, as time passed, I realized how much I missed working with my hands and creating physical objects. Last year, I decided to dive back into creating art and exploring different mediums. I discovered that I have a particular love for incorporating found objects in my art and questioning what art can and should be. I find it fascinating to challenge traditional notions of art and explore new forms of expression. I believe that art is a powerful means of communication and a way to bring people together, and I'm excited to continue exploring and experimenting in my artistic journey!

Challenging the idea of what constitutes "art" is a powerful way to push the boundaries of creativity and expression. By questioning traditional notions of what art should be, artists can create works that are innovative, thought-provoking, and even controversial. This approach can inspire new perspectives and challenge viewers to think critically about the world around them. As artists experiment with different mediums and incorporate new ideas into their work, the definition of "art" becomes more fluid and inclusive, allowing for a broader range of voices and perspectives to be represented.

“Returning Home”

The ocean has always held a special place in my heart. I find peace and a sense of calmness near bodies of water, especially the ocean. Even though I have lived in many countries and experienced diverse cultures, I have always felt the most at home near water. Water represents freedom, purity, and the ever-changing flow of life, and being close to it brings me a sense of serenity and rejuvenation. This series is a metaphoric representation of returning home to my fine art roots whilst visualizing where I feel most at home within myself.
